Special guests swoop into Fairmile Grange

To mark the longest day of the year, we hosted a summer fair garden party and invited members of the public, along with some very special guests to join us.

Residents and staff welcomed the local community to Fairmile Grange, as well as numerous rescue owls who swooped in to say hello. It was lovely seeing how excited the residents were when they saw the friendly birds of prey. Everyone had the chance to see the owls up close and hold them if they wanted to, which many of our residents thoroughly enjoyed.

In addition to the owls, the residents listened to some fabulous jazz and classical music, which was kindly performed by the Spectrum Duo. Whilst listening to the music, our catering team also served a lovely afternoon tea, which included some tasty croissants, scones and cakes, washed down with tea, coffee and mocktails.

Heidi Johnstone, wellbeing manager of Fairmile Grange, always ensures there are a lot of fun, entertaining and varied events taking place at the care home, for all of the residents to enjoy.

Pet therapy is always extremely beneficial for our residents as it helps them relax, so we are very thankful to ‘Mick’s Owls’ who brought in the rescue owls for us all to meet. We would also like to say a big thank you to the Spectrum Duo and everyone who came along to our summer garden party – it was a “hoot”! We look forward to welcoming you all to the next one.
