On In aid of MacMillan Cancer Support, we recently hosted a MacMillan coffee afternoon and are delighted to have raised £175 through a variety of fundraising activities, including a raffle and bake sale. The money, which was kindly donated by residents, relatives and staff was then matched by Encore, meaning a total of £350 was raised for MacMillan.
During the day, each of our lovely team members paid £1 and wore pink to demonstrate their support for the charity. One of our carers, Ila, also baked a fantastic cake decorated in buttercream and oranges, which was then part of a raffle prize organised by two of our residents, Roy and Barbara. As well as the delicious cake baked by Ila, we would like to thank another one of our residents, Sheila, and her daughter, Lindsay, for baking her delectable lemon curd cake, which was also one of the favourite sweet treats of the day.
On behalf of us all at Fairmile Grange, we would like to say thank you to everyone who joined in with the fun and supported this worthwhile cause. All of the proceeds have gone to MacMillan Cancer Support and it was a pleasure to share the lovely afternoon with so many people, with tea and plenty of cake.
